I made another dish from Lidia's Favorite Recipes, by Lidia Bastianich- ziti with roasted eggplant and ricotta cheese.
It was okay. Neither of us liked this much so I won't make it again. I can't narrow it down to one thing. It's just not for me. Or Dave.

The 13th Doctor is Jodie Whittaker
On Sunday, the BBC announced the actor who is to take over the role of the Doctor from Peter Capaldi. It's Jodie Whittaker. She'll be the first woman to take on the role.
There had been talk of a woman being the next Doctor, but I never seriously considered it or how I'd feel. I figured they wouldn't do it. My reaction: pure joy. I didn't expect it to affect me so deeply, but I was thinking about it and telling Dave how much it meant to me and I started to cry! Unexpected, uncontrollable tears of joy. I mean, I couldn't even get a sentence out. Tears were streaming down my face.
You see, I grew up as a "tomboy" who liked things that were "for boys." In science fiction, there aren't many female heroes. Aside from Princess Leia and Wonder Woman, who did I have? When I wanted to see myself in the stories that I loved, most of the time I just wasn't there. In Doctor Who, I always liked Romana. She was the closest I could get to seeing myself in the Doctor. She was a Time Lord. She was smart and strong and could save the day, too. But I could never be the Doctor in those stories. Now I can.

Really good oven-fried Buffalo wings
I made wings! They were baked, not fried, but they tasted like they were fried.
They were sooooo good and so easy. I used the Food Lab's recipe. Tossing the wings in baking powder and salt and allowing them to air dry in the fridge for at least eight hours before you bake them allows them to crisp up like they were fried. YUM. Toss in a sauce made of Frank's Red Hot and butter, and you're done. Dave's verdict: "You have to make this again." Oh, I will.

Doctor Who: The Invasion
This story is eight parts (!), but two are missing. Luckily, the BBC had those episodes animated, with the original audio. As I've mentioned before, I wish they would do that for all the missing episodes...
The Doctor and Jamie go to check out the fishy International Electromatics. When they're leaving, they're picked up by some mysterious men. Of course, I recognized one as Sergeant Benton, so we know what that means...
UNIT! They're investigating International Electromatics, too. I swear I got giddy when the Brigadier showed up and they were all so happy to see each other. I just love the Brigadier. Also, I probably should've mentioned that at the beginning of this story, a missile was fired at the TARDIS from the dark side of the Moon. Anyway, the Brigadier mentions that he met them four years ago now, but Jamie says it was only a couple of weeks.
Hijinks ensue, yes, that company is evil, and at the very end of the fourth episode, the Cybermen appear. Finally. Here comes the invasion!
Good thing the Doctor and UNIT are there to stop them. Huzzah!
Doctor: Second
Companions: Jamie, Zoe
Episode: #46, "The Invasion," eight parts
Adversary: the Cybermen
Next Up: "The Krotons"
